EVERYTHING FROM LOGS – WHETHER A SHED OR A BEAUTIFUL HOME

HsbCAD is one of the most powerful software solutions available today for log house design, combining precise 3D modeling, intelligent automation, and production-oriented workflows. The software enables the creation of detailed glulam and log models with all profiles, grooves and joints. We can produce various corner joint types such as dovetail, “city corner,” and the modern post-and-dovetail corner.

3D model is based on accurate parametric geometry, which reduces the risk of errors and allows quick testing of alternative solutions. Models can be easily exported to the IFC format, ensuring smooth collaboration with architects, engineers, and construction partners.

For manufacturing, we generate BVN and Hundegger K2 CNC files, which speed up processing and guarantee millimetre-level precision. The result is efficient, transparent, and error-free design throughout the entire lifecycle of the log house.

When creating corner joints, several options are available, such as the "city corner", classic notch, 90° dovetail and the most modern post-and-dovetail corner. The choice depends on the desired appearance and functionality.

Here are some examples of drawings. Log assembly numbering can be marked in several different ways. For each log it is possible to create an individual working drawing with an isometric view showing all joints, cut-outs, and drillings.

Traditionally the roofs of log houses are built on-site — but it doesn’t have to be that way! It is always possible to take the best features of both technologies and combine log construction with timber frame methods. We all know that every operation on the construction site takes at least twice as long compared to factory-produced components. On top of that, we never know what the weather will be during assembly. The most important goal is to make the structure weatherproof as quickly as possible.

The Ringtee project is a great example: the roof elements were fully prefabricated and ready for assembly. In just one day, the roof was installed  and insulated.
